RULES RELATING TO SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRANTS-IN-AID

The following rules govern all scholarships and grants-in-aid in all departments of the University, including the Institute of Technical Education (ITE).
To qualify for any scholarship/grant-in-aid, a student must possess good moral character and must not have any record of misconduct in schools previously attended.

A student who qualifies for two or more University scholarships/grants-in-aid may enjoy only one at his option. He forfeits the other scholarship/s or grant/s-in-aid.

A student who has been granted a scholarship by a non-UE entity, either government or private, may, if qualified, avail himself of a University scholarship or grant-in-aid. School fees paid to the University by the sponsoring entity will be refunded to the student.

A high school valedictorian or salutatorian may be granted a University Entrance Scholarship in any semester provided he has not previously enrolled in any College or University other than the University of the East.

The University Scholarship-Dean's List (US-DL) is earned at the end of the semester and takes effect the semester immediately following. The recipient must avail himself of the scholarship during the designated semester or he forfeits it. However, for reasons of health, he may request that the scholarship be deferred for a period of not more than one (1) semester.

A student who qualifies for a scholarship during his terminal semester may not avail of it after graduation.

A student who qualifies for a scholarship in one College may not enjoy the same scholarship should he transfer to another College.

A student may enjoy a scholarship or grant-in-aid only during a regular semester.

NOTE:

A student who earns a scholarship or grant-in-aid during the second semester and needs only one summer in order to graduate may enjoy the scholarship or grant during the summer term immediately following the second semester.
