DUCHESS MARIE B. CRUZ: UE's World-Class Achiever!
She is a young alumna of the UE College of Business Administration-Caloocan, graduating Magna Cum Laude and a College Distinguished Graduate awardee in April 2002. More recently, Duchess Marie B. Cruz became the No. 1 topnotcher in the November 2005 licensure examination for Certified Internal Auditors given by the USA-based Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), obtaining the exam's highest overall rating and besting over 21,000 examinees in 85 countries worldwide. UAAP Athlete of the Year Nelson Mariano III:
Checkmating All his Foes
CHESS HAS LONG BEEN A TRADITION in the family of Nelson I. Mariano III, the University's top athlete in the UAAP this season.
His father and two uncles are chess enthusiasts. One of his uncles, Harold, is the Head Coach of the UE Woodpushers, the University's chess team. His siblings all have their own records to speak of, chief among them Grandmaster Nelson Mariano II. FULL STORY |

At last! UE Wins the UAAP Juniors Division Overall Championship! !
For the first time in the University's history, UE earned the Overall Championship in the Juniors Division of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines, with five of our junior teams—comprised by students of the Secondary Laboratory School — winning First Place in their respective tournaments. .
