Three fresh UE graduates—Julie Ann B. Hinolan, Ace Benneth E. Jacinto and Janssen Rae B. Ramos—have emerged among the National Capital Region (NCR) finalists of the 2016 search for the Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines (TOSP-NCR)! All three warrior graduates earned their respective degrees at the 68th UE Yearend Commencement Rites last April 22, 2016 at the PICC.
Ms. Julie Ann Hinolan earned her Bachelor of Science in Accountancy degree, Magna Cum Laude, from the UE College of Business Administration-Manila. She was one of two UE delegates in the 17th Ayala Young Leaders Congress in February 2015, where she had the chance to meet some of local business’ movers and shakers, most notably Jaime Augusto and Fernando Zobel de Ayala of Ayala Corporation.
Mr. Ace Benneth Jacinto, a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering graduate of the UE College of Engineering-Caloocan, was the UE Caloocan Leadership Awardee for Men at this year’s UE CEng’g Caloocan yearend commencement rite.
He had been the First-Year Representative (2011-2012) and the Business Manager (2012-2013) of the UE Caloocan Engineering Student Council. He then served as the President of the UE Caloocan Central Student Council in SY 2013-2014. He also served as Central Director (2013-2014) and Executive Chairman (2015-2016) of Lakas ng Mag-aaral ng Pamantasan ng Silangan (LAMPS).
Mr. Jacinto had likewise been the Research and Development Secretary (2013-2014), Research and Development Co-Chairman (2014-2015) and External Secretary (2015-2016) of the Electronics Engineers Society-Institute of Electronics Engineers in the Philippines, and was the External Vice President and Vice President for Community Development and Outreach of the College Y Club in SY 2014-2015.
Mr. Jacinto was an Academic Excellence Awardee in 2012 and 2013, and was an Outstanding Delegate Awardee of the YMCA Student Congress in 2013.
Mr. Janssen Rae Ramos, who earned his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy degree, Magna Cum Laude, from the UE College of Business Administration-Caloocan, is the UE Outstanding Graduate Awardee and UE CBA Caloocan’s College Distinguished Graduate Awardee for SY 2015-2016. He was also UE Caloocan’s Outstanding Student Leader Awardee during the Campus’ 2016 Recognition Day.
Mr. Ramos had served as the UE Caloocan Student Council President for SY 2015-2016, and as Chair of the Student Crime Prevention Committee. He had also been the President (SY 2014-2015) and Vice President for Academics (SY 2013-2014) of the UE Caloocan College Y Club; Auditor of the Regional Council of YMCA of Manila College Y Club in SY 2014-2015; and Head and Student Adviser of the UE Caloocan Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) Debate Society in SYs 2014-2015 and 2015-2015, respectively.
An active participant of the YMCA Student Congress, Mr. Ramos had been thrice awarded the Outstanding Student Delegate (2013, 2014, 2015) of the congress. He also placed eighth in the National CPA Mock Board Exams in the 2015 Accountancy Student Seminar and Extracurricular Training.
The Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines search is an annual recognition program of the RFM Foundation Inc. in cooperation with RFM Corporation, the Commission on Higher Education, the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company and the Outstanding Students of the Philippines Alumni Community.
