Congratulations to John Nikko S. Pelaez. who has just graduated from the UE College of Fine Arts, Architecture and Design this December, for being a Grand Prize winner in this year’s Vision Petron National Student Art Competition!
Mr. Pelaez, who earned his Bachelor Fine Arts, major in Advertising Arts, degree from the University last December 8, 2016, was among the Grand Prize in not just one but two categories: He was recognized in the Painting (Oil/Acrylic) Category for his work “Nena and Nature,” and in the T-Shirt Art Design Category for his “I See Leaf and I See Life.”
As a UE student, Mr. Pelaez was nominated as Best Director, for his film Balik Loob, in the Twenty Quatro Guerilla Filmmaking Competition of CineSB6, De La Salle-College of St. Benilde’s independent film festival last July. Balik Loob also won the Audience Choice award in the same film festival.
Vision Petron is an exhibition and competition for young artists, photographers, painters and designers, for “all Filipinos to converge and be one through their shared love for Philippine art and culture.”
