Honor College Graduate and Former CBA Caloocan Dean is UE’s Latest Topnotcher!

Former UE College of Business Administration-Caloocan Dean Estelita Dando Bello has become UE’s latest topnotcher after emerging as one of two 3rd Place examinees (score: 81.30%) in the latest licensure examination for Real Estate Consultants! The exam was held on December 11, 2016 (Written Phase), and on January 10 to 12, and March 29 to 30, 2017 (Revalida).

Dean Bello had earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree major in Accountancy, Summa Cum Laude, from the UE College of Business Administration-Manila in 1972. She worked with SGV & Co. from 1972 to 1975; then joined Press Foundation of Asia, where she worked from 1975 to 1978; and later on served as Technical Assistant of the Board of Philippine Airlines-Airline Pilots Association of the Philippines Pilots Retirement Plan from 1978 to 1994. She moved to the mainstream of business by joining Filinvest Land Inc. as Special Assistant to the Senior Vice President in 1994, eventually becoming the Vice President for Insurance in 1999. She later joined Philippine British Assurance Company, Inc. in 2000.

Dean Bello left private employment in 2003, and started her own full-blown professional practice and non-life insurance from her home office in Quezon City. She was soon called into the academe, becoming the Dean of UE CBA Caloocan starting in June 2006 up to April 2010. She was appointed Dean of the Far Eastern University’s Institute of Accounts, Business and Finance the following year.

While in UE, she challenged herself to teach the two basic accounting subjects, to share real-world business practices to her faculty and the use of the latest technology. She introduced the use of MS Excel in teaching accounting and initiated the use of SAP in accounting education. She was instrumental in opening the BSA course to then incoming first-year UE students by removing the strict grade requirement (85%) without sacrificing the quality of graduates by means of a strict retention policy.

For the last six years, she has been a part-time faculty member of the UE Graduate School starting with the MBA program, for which she taught financial management, corporate finance, organizational management, strategic management and even labor relations. Later she was tapped to teach taxation subjects in the Master of Science in Accountancy (MSA) program of the UE Graduate School.

Dean Bello graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University Graduate School of Business with a Master in Business Administration (MBA) degree in 1992. She is completing her Doctor of Business Administration degree at the UE Graduate School.

Aside from her CPA license, which she earned in 1972, Dean Bello also holds several professional licenses in real estate brokerage (which she earned in 1994 and 2016), life insurance (earned in 1998) and non-life insurance (earned in 1999), with the new addition of her latest license, as real estate consultant.

Dean Bello says that the licenses she earned are proof of her belief in lifelong learning and her desire to expand and improve the quality of services she offers to her clients. Presently, she renders consulting services to a leading architectural firm, a trusted non-life insurance company and a religious corporation.

Congratulations, Warrior Alumna, Professor, Student and now Real Estate Consultant! Thank you for continuing to make Lualhati proud!
