UE Dentistry Professor-Alumnus elected President of PDA Chapter

Dr. Mariusse Chars R. Esquillo, MSc, a faculty member of the UE College of Dentistry, has been elected President of the Philippine Dental Association (PDA) Manila Dental Chapter (MDC). He took office on June 1, 2017, after being elected to the post in March 2016.

Dr. Esquillo, who has been teaching in UE since 2012, is a December 2005 graduate of Doctor of Dental Medicine from the UE College of Dentistry. As a UE student, he served as President of the Achievers Council for Excellence (ACE) for school year 2004-2005.

As a UE professor, Dr. Esquillo currently serves as Head of the Oral Surgery Section of UE CDent and is a member of the College Research Committee. He is also still involved with ACE, this time as Adviser. He also sits as the President of the UE Dental Faculty Club.

Within PDA, Dr. Esquillo became actively involved in the chapter while he was still a UE student, serving as a Student Assistant of the Scientific Committee of the PDA. In 2006, he became the Chairman for Membership of the MDC’s Scientific Committee. From there, he rose from the ranks, first serving as Vice President in 2010, a position he held for three terms, before becoming the Executive Vice President, and eventually President-elect, and now the President.

As PDA-MDC President, Dr. Esquillo vows to focus on the theme of “Empowering Membership,” inviting members of the Chapter to be more active in their activities. Among the initial activities he has planned is the MDC 80th Annual Convention and Scientific Session on July 8, 2017, at the PICC. The Scientific Session will feature three international speaker-experts to talk about their relevant professional experiences.

Congratulations, Warrior-Dentist and MDC President Esquillo!
