The University of the East congratulates UE College of Arts and Sciences-Caloocan student Sharmaine Hannah C. Garcia, more popularly known by her stage name Shane G., for winning the People\u2019s Voice Breakthrough Artist Award in the recently concluded 34th Awit Awards!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The virtual awarding ceremony was held this Monday November 29, 2021, via the Awit Awards Facebook page (https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/AwitAwards\/<\/a>) and YouTube channel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Miss Garcia is currently a third-year Bachelor of Arts in Communication student of UE CAS Caloocan, and is a member of the music organization UE Jam Sessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n She was nominated for two awards in the People\u2019s Voice Categories\u2013-Breakthrough Artist and Favorite Female Artist\u2013-for her viral single \u201cHead Over Heels,\u201d which has racked over 160,000 streams on Spotify.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Recently, she has caught the attention of K-pop boy band Stray Kids member Bang Chan.
