We Are The SEA Games Champion!!!
Athletes as well as coaches of the University of the East did their school and country proud by winning in various events of the just concluded 23rd Southeast Asian Games, amassing 21 medals, eight of which are gold. These eight gold SEA Games medals were won by seven UE athletes. Gymnast Roel Ramirez, a junior student at the College of Education, won two gold medals, one apiece from the floor exercises and vault competitions of the men’s gymnastics tournament. Full Story

Victory is almost always sweet. But the sweetness of the collective triumph of the UE students, graduates and/or coaches in the 23rd Southeast Asian Games held late last year is going to be hard to top. Consider: The UE contingent’s contribution—a total of 21 medals: eight gold, five silver and eight bronze medals—to the country’s overall horde helped the Philippines, the latest SEA Games’ host country, clinch the overall championship for the very first time.
