Out of hundreds of applicants nationwide, University of the East Bachelor of Science in Accountancy student Winsleth Dizon of the UE College of Business Administration (CBA)-Manila was named as one of the finalists of the search for the 2022 Outstanding Student Leaders of the Philippines (OSLP)!
Organized by Transforming Advocates and Champions, Inc. (TRAC, Inc), the search recognizes graduating college students all over the Philippines who are active in advancing advocacies and projects for their schools and communities as they “showed active involvement in college-related activities; extended their involvement beyond the campus and into the community; who noticeably demonstrated initiative, motivation, and potential for continued leadership; who has the most decisive influence and inspiration on the student body and made outstanding contributions to student leadership; and a student leader who had successfully planned and implemented exceptional and effective campus-wide and national events”.
The search seeks to “inspire the youth to contribute to nation-building through excellent academic achievement, transformative social engagement, and innovative leadership services to their institution, local communities, and the nation.”
Miss Dizon, who is the incumbent College Student Y Council Vice President for Internal Affairs, UE Manila College Y Club President, and Hiyas ng Silangan (HNS) Honors’ Society Vice Grand Lady Chancellor, was honored as a finalist for her outstanding academic credentials as well as her on-campus and community-related endeavors.
As part of the search, the finalists underwent a two-day reformation and character-rebuilding program that helped the finalists “rebuild and refocus their understanding of practical and action-oriented leadership.”
For the final phase of the search, Miss Dizon and her fellow finalists participated in a thought-provoking virtual interview with an esteemed panel of judges composed of The Climate Reality Project Philippines Branch Manager Nazrin Camille Castro; Atty. Nel Ediza, who is the Executive Vice President of JCI Cebu Sinulog; Mr. Dan Lester Mendoza, NCR Finalist of the Ten Most Outstanding Students of the Philippines and VAS Operations and Logistics Excellence Manager of Unilever Philippines; and Ms. Judith Ann Apolinario, Associate Executive Director and Director for Finance of Volunteer Philippines.
Miss Dizon’s feat, alongside the other OSLP honorees, was announced during the 2022 TRAC Student Affairs and Services International Convention last October 8, 2022, via Zoom. She was awarded by TRAC, Inc. Chairperson Prof. Marlon Maglipas and TRAC, Inc. Co-Founder Jocelle Maglipas last October 21 at the FEU Institute of Technology in Sampaloc, Manila.
