As the Filipino nation prepares for the 2025 midterm elections, the University of the East has formalized its support of the broadcast giant GMA Network in the latter\u2019s efforts at \u201cdelivering the biggest and most comprehensive election coverage\u201d through its Eleksyon 2025 program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This endeavor was formally initiated with a Partnerships Launch ceremony held on Monday, November 11, 2024, 11 a.m.\u2014a.k.a. 11.11.11\u2014at the GMA Network Center in Quezon City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Per GMA\u2019s news release, this \u201cpowerful alliance of more than 50 partners brings together leading organizations in the fields of telecommunications, media, technology, education, business, law, and public service, uniting to provide Filipinos with comprehensive, timely, and accurate information.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the Eleksyon 2025 Partnerships Launch and Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing, GMA Network President and CEO Gilberto R. Duavit Jr. highlighted the critical role of each partner organization in upholding electoral integrity and fostering transparency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs a coalition of the most trusted organizations in our respective fields, we come together once again to deliver an election coverage that is not only the most comprehensive, but also conforms to the highest standards of honesty and integrity, in a manner beyond reproach. Together, we are here to ensure that every Filipino, whether in urban cities or remote places in the archipelago, or anywhere across the globe, has access to information that is comprehensive, timely, and accurate in order to make objective and empowered decisions at the polls,\u201d said Mr. Duavit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In time for the partnerships launch, GMA also unveiled its election advocacy campaign \u201cDapat Totoo,\u201d emphasizing the fight against misinformation and disinformation to help guide voters this 2025 midterm elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joining Mr. Duavit in representing GMA Network in the Eleksyon 2025 Partnerships Launch were officials of GMA, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), universities and colleges in Metro Manila as well as Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, officers and representatives from the telecommunications industry, election watchdogs and civic organizations, other media; legal, business, and socio-civic groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Representing the University of the East was UE President and Chief Academic Officer, Dr. Zosimo M. Battad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also part of GMA\u2019s MOA signing event was the official launch of the song \u201cPanata sa Bayan\u201d for Eleksyon 2025, through a music video featuring a select roster of Sparkle GMA Artist Center singers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last August 30, GMA Network and almost 60 partners from media organizations, academic institutions, and COMELEC convened in a landmark event dubbed \u201cPanata Kontra-Fake News Covenant Signing\u201d to form the largest partnership in the fight against disinformation. The event, which was inspired by the Kapuso Network\u2019s \u201cPanata Kontra-Fake News\u201d campaign, had Marketing and University Relations Department Director Edilberto B. Sulat Jr. as UE representative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Eleksyon 2025 news release further states that \u201cOver the years, GMA Network has been at the forefront of delivering the most comprehensive election coverage, providing reliable and in-depth information to keep the public informed and engaged in the democratic process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTogether with its election partners, GMA Network is committed to delivering comprehensive Eleksyon 2025 coverage across all platforms, ensuring the Filipino public has access to accurate information and is empowered to make informed choices during one of the most important events of Philippine history,\u201d the report concluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
