UE-OECO/NSTP Brigada Eskwela 2012

The University of the East (UE) through the Office of Extension and Community Outreach (OECO) and National Service Training Program (NSTP) in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd) and other stakeholders will be conducting another worthwhile community engagement through the Brigada Eskwela 2012 also known as the National Schools Maintenance Week

The Brigada Eskwela is an annual activity of the DepEd which enjoins education stakeholders to contribute their time, efforts, and resources for the repair work of public elementary and high schools all over the country. The goal of the program is to ensure that public schools are ready to receive students when school opens.

For this year, the UE-OECO/NSTP together with the volunteers, spearheaded by Dir. Rogelio I. Espiritu, will be providing assistance to Tinajeros National High School, Malabon on May 21, 2012; F. Serrano Sr. Elementary School, Parañaque City on May 22, 2012 City; and Saclag Settlement Farm School, Oriental Mindoro on June 2-3, 2012. UE will be providing these public schools with arm chairs, construction materials, paints, cleaning materials and other items that will be useful for them. The volunteers will also assist in the repair, repainting and cleaning of classrooms and other means to further improve the environment of the schools.
