CBA Caloocan Prof Presents Paper in International Business and Info Conference

UE College of Business Administration-Caloocan Professor Eloida Carpio Dagumboy presented a concept paper at the International Conference on Business and Information held on July 6 to 8, 2018, at the COEX Convention Center in Seoul, South Korea.

The International Conference on Business and Information (BAI) is said to have served as an international forum for scholars, educators, thinkers and professionals of business and information disciplines to exchange their ideas and share the latest research achievements on a global context. Since 2004, it has organized 17 international conferences held in different countries around the world. In this recent conference, all accepted manuscripts will be published in the Proceedings of International Conference on Business and Information.

From more than 400 submitted researches from around the world, Prof. Dagumboy’s concept paper, titled “University Website Quality Benchmark in Selected Asian Countries” and which was reviewed by independent peers for technical merit and content, was one of the 240 selected for research presentation and publication.

Prof. Dagumboy’s study aims to identify the WebQual Index (WQI) threshold where respondents will consider revisiting websites and determine the university website aspects favored by Filipinos, Japanese and Thais. Consequently, the findings will be the groundwork for a university website design framework intended to ensure website maximization from which partner universities, namely the University of the East-Philippines, Soka University-Japan, Maejo University-Thailand and other Asian universities, would benefit.

The 2018 International Conference on Business and Information was chaired by Wenchang Fang of National Taipei University in Taiwan, and co-chaired by Wachara Chantatub of Chulalongkorn University in Thailand, H. Keith Edwards of the University of Hawaii at Hilo, USA, and Ushio Sumita of Keio University in Japan, with Namjae Cho from Hanyang University as local conference chair. Invited distinguished guests of the conference were Fernando A. F. Ferreira, Vice-Dean for Financial Affairs at the ISCTE Business School of the University Institute of Lisbon; Yanki Hartijasti, Assistant Professor of Management at Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Indonesia; and Kanes Rajah, the Executive Director of the Center for Executive and Professional Development, CEPD London.

Prior to the conference, Prof. Dagumboy (seen in the first photo above/at left with Dr. Wengchang Fang) and other selected participants toured the 79-year-old Hanyang University, which is located in Seongdong-gu, Seoul (second photo).

The conference itself opened on July 6, 2018, at the SKT Hall on the 7th floor of the School of Business of Hanyang University, while the second and third sessions were held at the one of South Korea’s largest convention and exhibition spaces, the COEX Convention Center in Samseong-dong of Gangnam-gu District, Seoul.

Prof. Dagumboy is a full-time faculty member of the UE College of Business Administration-Caloocan, teaching Management subjects. She is concurrently the School-to-School Promotions Head of the Marketing Department for the Caloocan Campus.

She earned her bachelor’s degree from Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), cum laude, and was also an Outstanding Graduate and a Gintong Parangal Awardee.
