UE Marks Latest Midyear Commencement This Thursday!

Congratulations are in order for UE’s 2019 candidates for midyear commencement!

The latest batch of graduating University of the East students, including 1st Semester, SY 2019-2020, candidates for graduation and Summer 2019 graduates, will have their graduation at UE’s 21st Midyear Commencement Rites this Thursday, December 5, 2019, at the Plenary Hall of the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City.

The candidates for graduation are STRONGLY ADVISED not to be late for the 12:30 p.m. assembly time, to avoid being relegated to the very end of the graduation march. Please be at the Upper Bridgeway of the PICC by the said time. We also urge the candidates (and their parents/guardians/companions) to check out the SEAG-related road closures in the vicinity of the PICC as listed in the MMDA advisory in the comment thread below.

The main image seen here is a full-color version of the “red-and-white” print ad that will come out in the December 5, 2019, issues of the Philippine Daily Inquirer, The Philippine Star and the Manila Bulletin. The ad features our latest UE alumna-commencement speaker, Hon. Carmelita Salandanan Manahan, and the expected Latin honor recipients among UE’s latest batch of graduating students.

Retired Associate Justice Manahan, a distinguished UE graduate who was initially an educator before taking on an illustrious judicial career, served as an Associate Justice of the Court of Appeals from March 2011 to March 2019. She is a 1968 UE College of Education graduate with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, Cum Laude.

UE’s latest commencement rites will also honor one recipient of the Latin honor of magna cum laude, and eleven recipients of the Latin honor of cum laude.

The proceedings will be broadcast online via livestream. We will post the link to it here within noontime this Thursday.

Congratulations, Grad-waiting Warriors to your respective families!
