UE Caloocan to hold Lecture on Environment, Climate Change

The University of the East in Caloocan will present a lecture with the topic “Population, Environment and Climate Change: Are We Ready for Another Sendong?” on Monday, January 30, 9 a.m. , at the UE Caloocan Multipurpose Hall.

UE Caloocan Dean of the College of Business Administration Dr. Rogelio V. Paglomutan, an economist and a former Department of Environment and Natural Resources Assistant Secretary, as well as a former Deputy National Treasurer of the Philippines, will deliver the said lecture.

The UE Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (UE JPIA), a UE Caloocan campus recognized organization comprised of B.S. Accountancy students, co-organized this forum to spearhead environmental awareness among UE students and the nearby communities. This is in support of government advocacy and action for clean and green environment, and to rally behind climate change adaptation and mitigation in order to reduce ecological vulnerabilities.

The lecture aims at spreading information that will stir up climate change consciousness, given the realities of climate change that are causing natural calamities and disasters in the country and in other places worldwide.
