The University of the East Red Warriors, with only eight players, beat the San Sebastian College Stags, 77-72, in overtime, Monday, October 29, at the Trinity University of Asia Gym, to win the 10th Fr. Martin’s Cup Basketball League Division 2 men’s basketball championship.

(Note: UE Red Warriors Head Coach David “Boycie” Zamar with other coaching staffs and the rest of the warrior-players left earlier for Taipei City to represent the Philippines, as well as the Southeast Asian region in the 4th Asian University Men’s Basketball Championship. The Philippine Team-UE competes against the national teams of China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Japan, Mongolia and South Korea.)
