World-class Tennis Warrior Debuts as Youngest Member of PHL Davis Cup Team!

UE Red Warriors Lawn Tennis Team member Alberto “AJ” Lim Jr. will make his debut as the newest and youngest member of the Philippine Davis Cup Team in the First Round: Asia/Oceania Zone Group II Davis Cup Qualifying Match against Indonesia. Their match will start this Friday, February 3, 2017, and will run up to February 5, 2017, at the Philippine Columbian Association in Paco, Manila.

AJ, one of the world’s top junior tennis players, is a UE freshman taking up Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, major in Marketing Management, at the UE College of Business Administration-Manila. He was also a high school freshman of the UE Elementary and Secondary Laboratory Schools (ESLS) before transferring to Colegio de San Juan de Letran.

AJ, who learned tennis from his father, UE BS Accountancy alumnus Alberto Lim Sr., as early as four years old, has already competed in the French Open and the Wimbledon, among other international tennis events.

AJ is the younger brother of UE Red Warriors Coach and newly appointed Philippine Lawn Tennis Team Director and Head Coach Numero Lim, who had steered the Warrior tennis players to back-to-back 2nd Place finishes in Seasons 77 and 78 of the UAAP Tennis Tournament.

Prior to this week’s Davis Cup match, AJ, under the tutelage of Coach Lim, competed in the 2017 Australian Open, touted as one of the four grand slam tennis tournaments, last January 21 to 28, 2017, in Melbourne, Australia. In the tournament, prior to facing defeat against Maxence Broville of France, AJ defeated Bang Shuo Yin of Chinese Taipei. Keep playing, keep fighting and keep winning, World-Class Tennis Warrior! Go fight, Red and White! GO FIGHT, RED AND WHITE!
