UE CEng’g Caloocan Students Win Big in Synergy EE and ECE Summit!

Students of the UE College of Engineering-Caloocan were recognized and awarded in the competitions held within this year’s Synergy: Electrical and Electronics Engineering Summit. The event was held last November 21 to 24, 2017, in UP Diliman, Quezon City.

In Revolutionary Robotics, a robotics competition where contestants were tasked to showcase their innovativeness and how robots can be helpful in real life, all three winning teams came from UE CEng’g Caloocan.

In 1st Place is Team Hack, composed of Charles Paul Briones, Abigail A. Marticio, Keean Janssen F. Quing and Hazel Lois A. Villena. Team Ignite, composed of I.J. M. Carido, Crisza V. Concepcion, Dave A. Cordova, and May Angelou M. Estacio, won 2nd Place. Both Team Hack and Team Ignite’s constituency are fifth-year BE ECE students.

In 3rd Place in the said robotics contest is the UE group named Teample Run, composed of fifth-year Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (BS CpE) students Rane Julianne Villamayor, Micah Staphanie Zapata, Nathaniel Ilang and Wilfred Karl Macabalo.

Acting as their coaches were Engr. Mark Anthony Aseoche and Engr. Francis Gubangco for the BS ECE students, and Engr. Edie Boy Dela Cruz, Engr. Alexis John Rubio and Engr. Nelson Rodelas for the BS CpE students.

In the summit’s Ingenious Ideas competition, in which the participants were challenged to think of out-of-the-box solutions to today’s problems, UE CEng’g Caloocan’s Team Plantheus, composed of fifth-year Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering (BS ECE) students—I.J. M. Carido, Kent Merson I. De Lara, May Angelou M. Estacio, Christopher M. Manluco, Crisza V. Concepcion, Raziel Raven C. Cruz, Dave A. Cordova and Flynn Edmund T. Tolentino—were awarded 2nd Place for their paper presentation. The team had Engr. Rommel G. Ramos as their adviser.

Another UE CEng’g Caloocan group, Team Astrid—composed of fifth-year BS ECE students Vania Maria V. Dela Cruz, Rodel M. Dellomas, Julius Ken Eric R. Gallenero, Ramwel Abram A. Mendoza, Marc Eugene A. Abrogar, J-Marc Adordionicio and Hansely Kyle A. Laurel—took home 3rd Place, with Engr. Mark Anthony C. Aseoche as their adviser.
