Warrior SHS Student is Finalist in Nationwide Poster-making Tilt

Ms. Denise Mae C. Panghulan, a Grade 12 Visual Arts Strand (VAS) student of the UE Basic Education Department-Caloocan, emerged as one of the finalists of the recently concluded #EndChildMarriage Nationwide Poster-Making Competition. The contest, organized by the Philippine Legislators Committtee on Popular and Development (PLCPD) Foundation, the competition’s theme was “Creating Spaces to Empower Young Girls.”

Ms. Panghulan’s painted entry is one of the contest’s 13 finalists out of 74 entries from all over the country. It shows a young girl wearing bridal attire while facing a mirror, her reflection showing her in a space suit―a creative, dramatic depiction of how early marriage can crush a child’s dreams.

UE Caloocan SHS teacher Jenny Jasmin C. Lacay was Ms. Panghulan’s Coach-Trainer for this competition, the awarding ceremony of which was held on October 8, 2018, at the Mitra Building of the House of Representatives in Pasay City.

Kudos, young warrior SHS artist!
