The UE Caloocan Guidance and Counseling Office (GCO) will be having its 7th Guidance Week Celebration from November 19 to 23, 2018, with the theme “Live Your Life Well: Fostering Warriors’ Well-Being.”

The UE GCO continues to support the University’s Total Student Care Program by developing the most mindful and empowered programs aimed at assisting UE students in achieving their optimal development. Thus, the thrust of this year’s Guidance Week Celebration is well-being.

The weeklong program kicks off with “Pray, Move and Think Well,” which features a thanksgiving mass; a seminar on mental health and well-being to be given by Dr. Camille C. Garcia, CEO of Clinic of the Holy Spirit and former Tagapagpayo of TV5 show Face to Face; the opening of exhibits and booths; and an afternoon wholistic seminar on well-being in partnership with Childfam-Possibilities Psychosocial Services and Slimmers World International Inc.

The second day’s roster of activities, collectively titled “Loving Well,” highlights the Module Training-Workshop on “Kwentuhang Pangkabataan” to be facilitated by the UE Caloocan Guidance Counselors. The workshop aims to train the officers of UE GCO groups of both the Manila and Caloocan campuses, such as College and Senior High School Peer Facilitators, Students with OFW Parents, Bully-free Life Advocates and Self-Identified LGBT Students, in running the module with other warrior students so that they can also learn responsible behavior in affectional relationships.

The seminars will be given by Mr. Benny Soliman, RGC, LPT, along with representatives of the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB).

On the fourth activity day, named “Spending Time Well,” students will receive a special treat from the UE Caloocan Alumni Association, Inc. (UECAAI), as Mr. Danilo L. Mejia, a certified public accountant and UECAAI Board Member, will conduct a seminar on financial well-being titled “The Financially Well Student.” A Self-Esteem Power Program (SEPP) group guidance session, titled “Sustaining the Positive Vibes amidst Academic Challenges,” will be held as well. Then, the Senior High School Peer Facilitators will have an activity on the “Time Management Matrix SHS Mission,” where in they will visit SHS students in their classrooms to promote proper time management.

On the celebration’s final day, called “Mindfulness for Well-Being,” peer facilitators from different colleges and universities will be banding together for the annual peer interaction titled “Fostering a Mindful You.” The seminar intends to teach mindfulness techniques to peer facilitators to allow them to recharge and help others.
