UAAP 81 Best Setter, Best Libero are UE Red Warriors!

Among the athletes to be feted at this Wednesday’s recognition program for UE’s UAAP 81 winners and achievers are UE Red Warriors Women’s Volleyball Team standouts Kathleen Faith P. Arado and Laizah Ann P. Bendong, who were awarded as Best Setter and Best Libero, respectively, in the UAAP Season 81 Women’s Volleyball Tournament. The awarding was held last May 15, 2019 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

Ms. Arado, who earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) major in Business Management degree from the UE College of Business Administration-Manila (CBA Manila) last April 25, 2019, at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), capped her collegiate career with her first UAAP Best Libero award. She had been awarded Rookie of the Year of UAAP Season 77. In UAAP Seasons 79 and 80, she took home the Best Digger award, and in Season 80, she was awarded as Best Setter.

Outside of the UAAP, Ms. Arado was awarded as Best Libero in the 2016 Southeast Asian Junior Women’s Volleyball Championships in Sisket, Thailand. In 2018, she was recognized as the Best Libero in the Philippine Super Liga (PSL) Collegiate Grand Slam Conference, and in the PSL All-Filipino Conference.

Ms. Bendong established herself as this season’s leading setter, edging out her closest competitor, Deanna Wong of Ateneo de Manila University, with an average of 7.09 excellent sets per frame against Ms. Wong’s 6.42.

This is the first UAAP award for Ms. Bendong, a Master of Business Administration, Non-Thesis Program student of the UE Graduate School. She earned her BSBA major in Business Management degree from the UE CBA Manila in the 20th Midyear Commencement Rites on December 6, 2018, at the PICC.

Congratulations, Warrior-Volleyball Players!
