Ms. Ma. Guadalupe C. Francia, Long-time UE Employee, 55

The UE community mourns the passing of one of its loyal and active yet low-key employees, Ms. Ma. Guadalupe C. Francia, who passed away on Sunday morning, June 23, 2019, for medical reasons. She was 55.

Ms. Francia, a longtime UE worker, was one of the Service Awardees for 25 years of service to the University in September 2018 (for which the Lyric Studio photo seen here was taken).

Starting her work for UE in 1993, Ms. Francia had been the Secretary of then UE President Rosalina S. Cajucom before settling into the post most of her UE colleagues know best: that of Secretary of Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer Carmelita G. Mateo.

Many of Lualhati’s students would remember “Ma’am Guada” for having been a semester-to-semester professor at the UE College of Business Administration-Manila and teacher of the National Service Training Program under the UE Office of Extension and Community Outreach.

Within her two and a half decades in the University, she also earned her Master in Business Administration degree from the UE Graduate School and had earned units in pursuit of a doctorate degree and a juris doctor degree from the UE GS and the UE College of Law, respectively.

The wake for Ms. Francia will be held this Monday to Wednesday, June 24 to 26, at Chapel 5B of the Evergreen Chapel and Crematory (Extension) on 300 C. Raymundo Avenue, Maybunga, Pasig City (beside Hap Chan Restaurant and TriCity Hospital). Viewing on Wednesday is up to 2 p.m. only, after which her remains would be cremated at 3 p.m. Interment will be on Friday, June 28, in the municipality of Magdalena in the province of Laguna.

Thank you so much for all your love, devotion, tirelessness and humility for UE, Ma’am Guada. Eternal peace be upon you, Warrior Worker…
