The UE College of Education concludes the successful celebration of its 70th founding anniversary with a very special variety show this Wednesday, October 9, 2019.

The anniversary celebration, whose theme is “Pitumpung Taon ng Makabuluhang Pag-iral,” will end on a truly high note via the Kolehiyo ng Edukasyon @ 70 Variety Show titled “Kasaysayan, Sayawan, Awitan atbp.!” This is a fundraising program whereby the College’s officers, faculty members and staffers―along with CEduc Student Council officers and members and other CEduc students as well as alumni―will have song and dance “showdowns” through an array of pop hits from the 1940s to the 2010s. This would be like travelling through time, across the seven decades coinciding with the College’s living history to date.

The colorful, fun-filled event, which is open to the UE community as well as UE CEduc alumni, will start at 1 p.m. and take place at the Conference Hall. Tickets are at 100 pesos each, the proceeds of which will be used for special projects of the UE CEduc. (This variety show had been set for last September 17 but got cancelled due to the all-levels class suspension on that day.)

The group shot here from the said Recognition Day shows (seated, from left) UE Manila Chancellor Linda Santiago, former UE CEduc Deans Amelita Cruz, Leticia Cortes, Justina Evangelista and Rosalina Young, CEduc Dean Evelina Vicencio, (standing, from left) CEduc Faculty Member Dr. Cora Huelar, Administrative Officer Remedios Mahiya, Basic Education Department-Manila Principal Nieva Discipulo, CEduc Professional Education Department Chair Eva Callueng, Prof. Mildred Jimenez, Nutrition and Dietetics Department Chair Marie Geraldine Liboro, Prof. Joan Grecia, Prof. Reg Dela Cruz, Dr. Clarissa Guia, College Secretary Cynthia Diaz, and N&D Department Staffer Janina Villafuerte.

This much-anticipated program comes in the heels of the UE CEduc’s special Recognition Day in the afternoon of October 1, 2019, at the Instructional Resource Center (IRC) at the Education Building in UE Manila.

The College’s aforesaid Recognition Day honored a number of key figures in the College’s history, including former Deans Amelita A. Cruz, Leticia P. Cortes, Rosalina G. Young (who is currently the Director of UE’s Textbooks Evaluation and Publishing Office) and Justina M. Evangelista (currently the Dean of the UE College of Arts and Sciences-Manila). The program also recognized the College’s present scholars whose college education are covered by the University (as University President Scholars, University Scholars or College Scholars) or by the UE-Tan Yan Kee Foundation Inc. and Metrobank scholarship programs, and was a venue to meet this year’s Mr. and Miss UE College of Education and for presenting projects of the UE College of Education Alumni Association.

Happy 70th Anniversary, UE College of Education! Cheers, Education Warriors, and see you at the Variety Show!
