UE Hosts PACU’s Academic Management Seminar-Workshop on Quality Assurance


The University of the East, through UE Caloocan, will be hosting the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities’ PACU Academic Management Series seminar-workshop. With “Surviving the Avalanche in Philippine Education through Quality Assurance, Internationalization and Human Capital Development” as theme, the one- and-a-half-day event will be held on Thursday and Friday this week, January 30 to 31, 2020, at the Multipurpose Hall on the fifth floor of the Dr. Lucio C. Tan Building in UE Caloocan.

The activity will bring together officials and key representatives of various academic and non-academic institutions. As such, administrators, deans, program heads, faculty members, staffers and students of private and public colleges and universities are invited to attend and participate.

Day 1 will feature nine keynote presentations, covering such topics as the Philippine Qualifications Framework and ASEAN Qualifications Reference Framework; preparing students for professional qualifications; inclusivity and responsiveness in education delivery; the Commission on Higher Education’s Council of Accreditation and Technical Panels; addressing job-skills mismatch and lack of qualified graduates; prospects for local and foreign employment; consciously building careers through the curriculum; teaching to Gen Z learners; future-proofing learners and intensifying Industry 4.0 skills; and aligning TVET programs and college programs.

Day 2’s morning-only program will touch on preparing the country for the implementation of the transnational education law; and the quality assurance roadmap and experience.

There will be open fora on each of the two lecture days.

Registration through PACU is still ongoing. The course fee is P5,500.00, which shall cover tuition, certificate, course materials, lunch, and coffee breaks.
