The University of the East through its Office of Cultural Affairs (OCA), in cooperation with the Cultural Center of the Philippines, will hold an Outreach Concert featuring the world-renowned Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra this Friday, February 15, 2019, 5 p.m. at the UE Theatre.
The country’s leading orchestra will be performing a selection of classical and contemporary tunes under the helm of PPO’s Associate Conductor, Maestro Herminigildo G. Ranera.
The event will also bestow an Arts and Culture Award upon CCP President Arsenio J. Lizaso. Mr. Lizaso, a 1965 graduate of Bachelor of Arts major in English of the UE College of Arts and Sciences-Manila, has spent close to six decades in theatre, television and film as an artist, director and producer. In addition, he has devoted the same time to cultural work, art education and personal advocacy to bring art closer to the common man.
The concert marks the grand reopening of the UE Theatre, which underwent a two-year refurbishment, thanks to a major donation by UE graduate Dr. Andrew L. Tan. Dr. Tan, who earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree, Magna Cum Laude, from the UE College of Business Administration-Manila in 1974, is the Founder, Chairman and President of Megaworld Corporation.
Admission to the concert is free to the UE community but please secure your tickets at the UE OCA, which is located at the fourth floor of the Dalupan Building, UE Manila.
See you there, Warriors!
