Admission Requirements

Admission to any of the Basic Education courses specifically the Regular High School program of the University shall be selective and shall be correlative with the retention policy of the University.

As a rule, no applicant may be admitted to and registered in the University unless he/she has satisfied all the prescribed requirements/credentials and qualifying factors laid down by the University Academic council.

The University of the East Basic Education Department admits applicants from Kinder to Grade 12. The process and requirements of admission depend on the classification of students as indicated below:

A. For Old Students

   Old students should submit their Report Card.

B. For New Students

  New students should submit the following requirements together with the application form to the Principal’s Office.

  1. Original and photocopy of NSO-authenticated Birth Certificate
  2. Four pieces 1″ × 1” recent ID photo
  3. Additional Requirements as specified below ↓

Pre-school Applicants

  • For Kinder 1, the applicant should be four years old on or before October 1 of the current year.
  • For Kinder 2, the applicant should be five years old on or before October 1 of the current year.
  • Copy of Report Card or Certificate of Attendance if an applicant has previously undergone schooling.

Incoming Grade 1

  • The applicant should be six years old on or before October 1 of the current year.
  • Copy of the Certificate of Pre-school Attendance or Report Card duly signed by the School Principal.

Incoming Freshmen

For Regular Program

  • Certified true copy of Form 138 (Report Card) duly signed by the school Principal.
  • Certification of Good Moral Character from the School Principal or Guidance Counselor
  • For Valedictorians and Salutatorians, Certificate issued by the Elementary School Principal indicating the honor/s or academic award/s received and the number of graduates of their batch.

 

For Science-Based Program

  • General average should be 87% and above with no grade below 80% in any grading period.
  • Recommendation to the program endorsed by the School Principal.

Transferees and Returnees

  • Certified true copy of Form 138 (Report Card) duly signed by the school Principal.
  • Certification of Good Moral Character from the School Principal or Guidance Counselor
  • General average should be 85 or higher, with no failing grade in any subject.
  • Conduct grade should be 85%, B, Good or above their equivalent.
  • General average of 79% will be considered on case to case basis provided that the applicant’s Conduct grade is at least 85%, B, Good or their equivalent.

Non-resident Foreign Students

Requirements shall be the same as that of freshmen or transferees but additional Government Requirements specified below shall also be submitted:

  • Scholastic Records signed by the School Head and duly authenticated by the Philippine Embassy located in the applicant’s country of origin or residence.
  • Documentary Proof of Support to cover expenses incidental to his/her studies, such as board and lodging, as well as return airline ticket.
  • Police Clearance Certificate
  • Medical Health Certificate with standard-size chest X-ray.

Senior High School (Grades 11 & 12)

  • Original copy of appropriate Form 138 or Form 137 A duly signed by the Principal or Registrar.
  • Latest Certification of Good Moral Character.
  • NSO issued Birth Certificate
  • Two copies of 2″ x 2″ photo
  • UE-CAIA (UE Competency and Interest Assessment) Result

 

To get UE-CAIA, the following requirements should be submitted:

  • Accomplished Application Form
  • Two copies of 2″ x 2″ photo
  • Latest School ID or latest Certificate of Enrollment
  • For Old Students
    Old students should submit their Report Card.
