The first batch of graduates and graduating students―five persons in all―of the University of the East’s Doctor of Information Technology (DIT) program under the UE Graduate School recently delivered paper presentations based on their doctoral dissertations at the 2018 World Interdisciplinary Research Conference last April 5 to 7, 2018, in Bangkok, Thailand.

The conference, whose theme was “Research and Innovation in a Knowledge-driven Environment,” was held in cooperation with DR International Training and Research Thailand, through the Center for Research and Innovation and Data Management.

Student paper presentation in an international forum is one of the graduation requirements of the DIT program that was launched three years ago at UE Graduate School.

Receiving their doctoral degree in IT at UE’s 70th Yearend Commencement Exercises last April 26, 2018 at the Philippine International Convention Center were UE professors Shirley De Leon Moraga of the UE College of Computer Studies and Systems), and Joan Lazaro and Alexis John Rubio, both of the Computer Engineering Department of the UE College of Engineering-Caloocan).

Mr. Henry Dyke Balmeo, Database Administrator at the UE Information Technology Department, and Ms. Kathalyn Mata of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila hope to complete their respective dissertations toward the end of summer 2018.

The UE graduate professors in IT, Dr. Dennis Gonzales (Program Coordinator for IT) and Dr. Albert Vinluan (Research Adviser) joined the students at the Conference.

Congratulations, DIT Warriors!
