UE Weightlifting Team Wins Eight ‘Batang Pinoy’ Medals

The year 2011 proved to be a good one for the UE Red Warriors-Weightlifting Team as they amassed a total of 80 gold medals, 70 silver medals and 28 bronze medals from various competitions throughout the year. The team ended 2011 with a bang via the National Batang Pinoy Games last December 10 to 13 at the Naga College Foundation, in Naga City, Camarines Sur, winning eight medals. In this competition, the UE team’s members who are Elementary and Secondary Laboratory Schools (ESLS) students received three gold medals, three silver medals and two bronze medals. Winning gold medals were Daryl Ann Ancuelo, Jamil Joseph Sebastian and Edwin Lucero. The silver medals were earned by Emily Racelis, Herbert Cadenas and Aislinn Agnes Yap. Eriel Cardano and Ma. Celinna Espeña each won a bronze medal. Also competing for UE was Ronald Pagalan.

The UE Red Warriors Weightlifting Team is mentored by Coach Edmundo Jose G. Cardano.

The members of Lualhati’s entire weightlifting squad will restart their campaign for weightlifting supremacy in 2012 via the 4-1 Powerlifting: Interschool, Class B, Novice, Luzon Championships on January 28-29, 2012, and the Philippine National Games and National 5-1 Weightlifting Championships in May 2012.
