Yet there is another facet to Edrew that is sure to bring victories and accolades as well: his being a musician, specifically an acoustic guitar player for the last seven years.

With his trusty Lyric FV Stevens guitar, Edrew tried his luck in the TV5 talent show Talentadong Pinoy early this 2010, making it all the way to the finals.

Edrew considers his FV Stevens his secret weapon. Ever since he bought this guitar in November last year, his guitar sound became crisper and more refined. Along with his innate talent, it was this new sound that encouraged him to try and shoot for fame.

To compliment the guitar, Edrew also bought accessories and embellishments from Lyric, such as guitar strings, handle bells, percussion brush and straps, as well as a guitar case. He believes that quality need not be sacrificed by substituting substandard accessories for a great guitar.

Now, Edrew is in another, bigger competition. He is the sole Philippine representative in the 2010 World Music and Independent Film Festival, to be held on August 15 to 21, 2010, in Capital Hilton, Washington, DC, USA. He is nominated for the Best Alternative Rock Music Award for his instrumental entry “Hit Beat Game Over.” Edrew is also nominated for the Festival’s People’s Choice Music Award, where he is currently in the No. 2 spot in the online voting race.

With his trusty Lyric FV Stevens, a victory and fame could just be around the corner for Edrew Cardano, UE student-guitarist.
