UE Tourism Graduate is newest FPJ Excellence Awardee!


Charlene May P. Dabu, a fresh UE Caloocan graduate who earned her Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management degree, Cum Laude, just last April 16, is the newest recipient of the Fernando Poe Jr. Excellence Award!

Ms. Dabu was the President of UE Caloocan’s Central Student Council (CSC) in school year 2014-2015, prior to which she was the CSC’s Business Manager in SY 2013-2014. She was a nominee for the 2015 Leadership Award for Women of UE Caloocan.

In SY 2012-2013, Ms. Dabu was Vice President-External of the University of the East Travel Society and 2nd-year Representative of the UE College of Arts and Sciences-Caloocan Student Council.

The Fernando Poe Jr. Excellence Award is given to deserving and outstanding youth leaders by the partnership of the Office of Senator Grace Poe and the National Youth Commission, in honor of Senator Poe’s late father, the distinguished actor-director and presidential candidate Fernando Poe Jr.

Ms. Dabu is the second UE student/graduate to become an FPJ Excellence Awardee. Last year, UE College of Business Administration-Caloocan graduate Jeric James C. Pernitez received the award.
