Students of the University of the East College of Engineering-Manila (UE CEng’g Manila) won at the recently held National Robotics Competition, a project of Pinoy Robot Games (PRG) that was held on February 6 to 7, 2018, at the Tagaytay International Convention Center.

The students competed in the 3KG Sumobot Open-age Category, with Bren Matthew J. Ebriega winning 2nd Place and Kearllan Aeynard M. Del Castillo winning 4th Place. Joining them as co-representative of UE CEng’g Manila and its Computer Engineering department was Levi Jahzen S. Roma. All three are UE CEng’g Manila Computer Engineering (CpE) students; Mr. Ebriega and Mr. Roma are in their fourth year, while Mr. Del Castillo is in his third year. They competed with hundreds of students from different colleges and universities from across the Philippines.

Mr. Del Castillo was a member of the Philippine Robotics Delegation at the International Robotics Olympiad 2012 held in South Korea after winning at the National Robotics Competition that year.

Pinoy Robot Games is the organization that conducts the annual Philippine National Robotics Competition. Apart from its open-age category, the National Robotics Competition has junior and senior categories.

UE CEng’g Manila’s Computer Engineering department is now preparing to join the World Robotics Competition 2018, which will be held in the Philippines this October.

Kudos and keep building and innovating, Robotics Warriors!
