ESTEEMED WARRIOR GRAD IS 27TH UE MIDYEAR COMMENCEMENT SPEAKER

Congratulations to our Warrior Candidates for midyear commencement for school year 2025-2026 of the University of the East’s Manila and Caloocan Campuses—whose graduation will unfold at noontime this Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Function Room 5, on the second floor of the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

This latest UE graduation program will feature as commencement speaker Mr. Jeffrey C. Lim. A 1981 graduate of the then Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Accounting program (now Bachelor of Science in Accountancy) of the UE College of Business Administration-Manila, Mr. Lim had risen from SM Prime’s ranks to become Vice President for Finance then Executive Vice President and Chief Finance Officer, to his current post as President and Executive Director.

Mr. Lim has several prestigious distinctions to his name, including having been hailed as an Eminent Leader in Asia by the Asia Corporate Excellence and Sustainability Awards; Asia’s Best CEO, per Corporate Governance Asia; Best CEO in the Philippines by FinanceAsia; and an inductee of the Global Management Accounting Hall of Fame by the Institute of Certified Management Accountants.

Please be advised of the following reminders regarding the 27th UE Midyear Commencement Rites that will unfold this Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Function Room 5, on the second floor of the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

1. DO NOT BE LATE. The assembly time will start at 12 noon, with the cut-off time of 12:30 p.m. Candidates for graduation who will arrive beyond the said cut-off time will be deemed late and will have to be among the very last in line to go up the SMX stage during the awarding of diplomas.

Assembly will be on the second floor of SMX, after entering through the main entrance on the ground floor.

2. DRESS UP GREAT. Please observe the attire requirements for graduating students: long-sleeve shirt, tie, dark slacks and leather shoes for men; closed shoes for women. No denims, rubber shoes or slippers, please. And leave bags and other belongings with your loved ones/companions.

3. SEVEN, UP. Children below seven years old will not be allowed inside the venue.

4. NO FOOD OR DRINKS INSIDE THE VENUE. Please.

UE Arts Month 2026 Opens with Tribute Exhibit

The University of the East, through the UE Office of Cultural Affairs (OCA) and in cooperation with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), joins the country in celebrating National Arts Month 2026, the theme of which is “Ani ng Sining: Katotohanan at Giting”.

The festivities is marked by an exhibit that will open on Monday, February 2, 2026, 12 noon, at UE Manila's Dalupan Lobby. The month-long exhibit will feature the works of the recipients by Gawad Manlilikha ng Bayan, National Artists, as well as The Schools of Living Traditions.

Heads up, incoming UE college freshmen: You just might qualify to become a UE-TYKFI scholar!

The University of the East will administer anew the qualifying exam for the UE-Tan Yan Kee Foundation Inc. scholarship for first-year college students of school year 2026-2027 of UE Manila and UE Caloocan!

What’s more, the UE-TYKFI scholarship program will now be implemented in partnership with the Philippine National Bank (PNB), will include slots for dependents of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and will grant qualified scholars post-graduation employment opportunities within the LT Group, Inc., particularly with PNB!

This scholarship is open to deserving incoming UE college freshmen of both campuses who:
1. Score a high passing mark in the UE college entrance test (UE CET);
2. Have a Grade 12 general weighted average (GWA) of at least 90%; and
3. Are looking into taking up Business Administration, Accountancy, Information Technology, Engineering, or Dentistry.

Full UE-TYKFI scholars are entitled to 100% free tuition and miscellaneous fees per semester[*], plus textbook allowance, uniform subsidy, transportation allowance and a monthly stipend.

* Maintaining the scholarship in succeeding semesters will be subject to meeting the qualifications and requirements.

Cheers to the UE College of Fine Arts, Architecture and Design (CFAD) and our newest set of Bachelor of Science in Architecture (BS Arch) graduates who passed the latest Architect Licensure Examination (ALE)!

UE CFAD yielded a total of 16 new Architects: 12 first-time examinees and four re-takers. These successful examinees collectively gave the UE CFAD an overall January 2026 ALE passing percentage of 88.89%, which is higher than the national January 2026 ALE passing rate of 82.12%, showcasing the excellence of the UE CFAD in shaping future architects.

The latest ALE was administered by the Professional Regulation Commission just last January 20 and 22 across the National Capital Region and in 12 provincial sites.

THANK YOU, CHED! | Commission Congratulates UE, CDent, Topnotchers

The Commission on Higher Education-National Capital Region (CHED NCR) has officially congratulated the University of the East in writing for its remarkable performance in the recently concluded licensure examination for dentists.

Addressed to UE President and Chief Academic Officer Zosimo M. Battad, the letter by Atty. Marco Cicero F. Domingo, CESE, CHED NCR Director III and officer in charge of the Office of the Director IV, “warmly congratulates your esteemed institution” for being recognized as one of the higher education institutions with successful examinees who garned Top 10 places in the November-December 2025 licensure examination for dentists.

The greeting comes after two graduates of the Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) program of the UE College of Dentistry, Dr. Irish Kyle Katipunan Mateo and Dr. Dominic Russel Navarro Santos, emerged as the said exam’s lone 1st Placer and 4th Placer, respectively.

“This outstanding achievement, “Atty. Domingo’s letter continues, “is a reflection of your institution's commitment to academic excellence, quality instruction, and the holistic development of your students. Your dedication to upholding the highest standards of education greatly contributes to the professional and personal success of your graduates and strengthens the country’s workforce.”

Through the CHED NCR missive, Atty. Domingo adds that “We commend your administrators, faculty, and students for this remarkable accomplishment and express our heartfelt gratitude for your continued efforts in advancing the higher education sector... Again, congratulations and may you continue to inspire excellence among future generations of Filipino professionals.”

The letter, dated January 8. 2026, preceded the recent celebratory bonfire held at the UE Manila Quadrangle last January 12, a University tradition over the last seven decades to commemorate the yielding of a 1st Place examinee in any of the licensure exams conducted by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and other licensure exam administrators.

UE CBA Manila yielded a total of 38 new CPAs: 22 first-time examinees and 16 re-takers, with a 46.91% passing percentage for the college.

UE CBA Manila’s CPALE passing percentage is above the exam’s national passing rate of 34.02%.
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) administered the latest CPALE last October 24 to 26, 2025 across the National Capital Region and 17 provincial sites during those three days, with the results released on November 4, 2025.
