Among 1,085 successful passers nationwide, Mr. Williams achieved 9th Place, placing him among the country's Top 10 performers in the certification examination. His remarkable performance reflects exceptional competence, dedication, and excellence in the field of taxation. The examinations were conducted from June 12 to 21, 2026, in various testing centers across the Philippines.

This outstanding achievement reflects his hard work, perseverance, and commitment to excellence while reaffirming the University of the East's tradition of producing highly competent, ethical, and future-ready accounting and business professionals.

The University of the East community condoles with the family and loved ones of former UE Red Warriors Men’s Basketball Team player and head coach, and PBA legend Rodolfo “Rudy” S. Soriano who passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at age 79.

Mr. Soriano was a vital player for the UE Red Warriors, where he was a part of the Champion UAAP Men’s Basketball Team from 1967 to 1970 under Coach Virgilio “Baby” Dalupan. He was also a gold medalist in the first edition of the Asian Youth Championship in Manila in 1970. Dubbed as the original “Magician” of the PBA, he was a seven-time MICAA Champion and an eight-time PBA Champion, including capturing the highly-coveted PBA grand slam in 1976, while playing for the Crispa Redmanizers.

In 1991, he became the head coach of the UE Red Warriors Men’s Basketball Team.

The cremation of Mr. Soriano’s remains is scheduled on July 18, 2026, at 10 a.m. Ceremonial viewing will continue through July 20 at the Luna Chapel, La Funeraria Paz, Sucat, Parañaque City, with the inurnment on July 21.

𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗙𝗔𝗦𝗧 𝗧𝗘𝗦 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗨𝗘 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗬 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲–𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳 𝗡𝗼𝘄 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻!

College students of UE Manila and UE Caloocan for SY 2026–2027 may now apply for the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) under the Unified Student Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (UniFAST) of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

Through the TES program, qualified grantees will receive a ₱13,500 subsidy per semester.

Applicants will be ranked by the UniFAST Secretariat based on the latest Listahanan, according to per capita household income.

UE college students who meet the criteria are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

Note: Existing TES and TDP grantees need not apply.
