Major in BUSINESS ECONOMICS (BBE) with Specialization Track in Business Analytics

A curricular program that prepares the graduates for careers in banking, economic and development planning, as well as general management. The program focuses on the relationship of business operations and the economy as a whole. It integrates economic principles and strategies into standard business practices so that the student can have both the micro view of how the business can acquire capital, generate profit and efficiently produce goods and services, as well as the macro view of how external economic factors such as government regulation can affect and should influence, business decisions.

 

The objectives of the program:

  1. Equip students with insights and understanding of economic principles and theories;
  2. Prepare the students to be aware and responsive to the present economic issues affecting the business environment;
  3. Develop in the students’ competencies and skills needed as economic analysts or entrepreneurs;
  4. Prepare the students to pursue a teaching career or graduate studies in business;
  5. Produce business and economic researches to detect early signs of opportunities and threats that may affect courses of action; and
  6. Adhere to the values of integrity, professionalism, teamwork, transparency, accountability and social responsibility in the practice of their profession.

 

Program Outcomes

A graduate of the program will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate an understanding of business intelligence, including the importance of data gathering, data string, data analyzing and accessing data;
  2. Analyze the business environment for strategic direction;
  3. Produce business and economic researchers that will contribute in solving economic and social problems;
  4. Utilize results of data analysis to organizational stakeholders at various levels;
  5. Prepare operational plans;
  6. Innovate business ideas based on emerging industries;
  7. Manage strategic business units for economic stability;
  8. Choose the best approach in modern decision-making and problem-solving;
  9. Apply business analytics tools to solve business problems, to aid intelligent and informed business decision-making for business optimization; and
  10. Render relevant and committed service to the community, the nation and the world.
