The University of the East is celebrating its 78th Foundation Anniversary through a variety of academic and extra-curricular activities across its Manila and Caloocan Campuses this September!

The main foundation anniversary week will be from September 23 to 28, 2024—September 25 being UE’s specific Foundation Day.

The overall theme of UE’s 78th Foundation Anniversary is ‘Excellence Beyond 78’. This speaks of UE’s past, present and future…

The past refers to its historical legacy of excellence in producing accomplished graduates and alumni across various fields of endeavor and positions of leadership and expertise, be it in the Philippines or elsewhere in the world.

Its present concerns continued efforts at molding learners, especially among the youth of Filipino and international races, into becoming tomorrow’s leaders, achievers and life champions.

Moreover, UE’s future is about not resting on its numerous laurels and instead aiming to perpetually realize its eternal mission of dedicating itself to the service of youth, country and God, through myriad ways within the realm of Philippine and global academia.

As such, there will be an array of activities, including an upcoming exhibit featuring epitomes of excellence among UE graduates as produced by the University’s individual Colleges, Graduate School and Basic Education Departments.

And to pave the way for future generations of excellent citizens and professionals, this year’s UE anniversary will have a two Open House days, on September 26-27, 2024, to welcome would-be college freshmen of 2025 to tour the campus and take the UE College Entrance Test for free.

Other major UE anniversary events this year include activities for or involving its present student body, such as a general, main library exhibit per campus, a “Tagisan ng Talino” quiz bee, the Mr. and Miss UE pageant, and a bloodletting day.

There will also be University Convocation featuring PCSO Board of Directors Chairman and UE College of Law graduate Felix P. Reyes as guest of honor and speaker, a U-belt Research Forum, the annual University Service Awards for its model and loyal employees in academic and non-academic positions, the opening of the UE-Alternative Learning System Center in UE Caloocan, and a tree-planting program in Orani, Bataan. (The full calendar of activities will be posted very soon.)

All told, UE’s 78th Foundation Anniversary will serve to underscore the University’s goal of constantly achieving Excellence Beyond 78 while enticing future and even distant batches of hopeful learners to Let Their Tomorrow Begin in the East—the University of the East!
