The University of the East congratulates UE College of Dentistry graduate Trisha O. Martinez on being the 2nd Runner-Up in the recent 60th Binibining Pilipinas Beauty Pageant!

The annual beauty and brains competition was held last Sunday, July 7, 2024, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

Dr. Martinez had formally earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the UE CDent during the 2nd UE Virtual Yearend Commencement Rites aired on August 28, 2021.

Hailing from Pila, Laguna, Dr. Martinez is a pageant veteran. She was crowned Miss UE 2018 in the annual Mr. and Miss UE Pageant on September 28, 2018, at SM Cinema Manila during the University’s 72nd Foundation Anniversary.

Earlier in 2018, she was crowned the winner of Las Casas Lakambini, a pageant patterned after the search for the pre-war Manila Carnival Queens and which was held at the Las Casas Filipinas de Azucar in Bagac, Bataan. In 2017, she was the winner of Miss Philippine Dental Students Association. She is also the titleholder of Mutya ng Pila 2015 and was a contestant in Bodyshots 2016.

On October 3, 2021, Dr. Martinez was crowned Miss Tourism Philippines during the 2021 Miss World Philippines beauty pageant at the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center. She was a finalist in the 2023 Binibining Pilipinas Pageant on May 28 that year also at the Big Dome, where she won Miss Philippine Airlines and Best in Evening Gown.

In addition to having earned her DMD degree from the UE CDent in 2021, Dr. Martinez has been a private dental practitioner in her native Pila and is a member of The Smile Initiative, a non-profit organization committed to providing free oral rehabilitation and envisioning enhanced oral health care towards an improved quality of life among Filipinos.
