University of the East > CAS > New Batches of Soka University Exchange Students to Have Educational Fun Fun Fun in UE Caloocan!

The University of the East, through the UE College of Arts and Sciences-Caloocan (CAS Cal.), is set to welcome three new successive batches of students from Tokyo, Japan’s Soka University as the latest learners under our “Better U, Better E!” Intensive English Workshop and Cultural Exchange Program (IEWCEP).

The UE IEWCEP comprises workshops, trips, and shows to enhance the participants’ communication skills in English while immersing themselves in the Filipino way of life, including our general culture, arts, gastronomy, and many more.

UE has held this activity for Soka University students since 2015, thus further promoting the institution’s global connection and competence. The program is headed by UE CAS Cal. Dean Michelle H. Concepcion, with the Department Chair of the College’s Department of Social Sciences, Prof. Kristoffer Kiel M. Santos, as the overall coordinator, and Dr. Darwin M. Guianan of the UE CAS Cal. Department of Languages as the assistant coordinator. Considering the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, the IEWCEP committee has had to revamp the program to make it even more immersive, setting new ventures, native dishes, performances, and tourist destinations, thus taking the entire endeavor to a new level.

The first batch of incoming Soka University will be in UE and other Filipino locales from February 18 to 28, 2024. The second batch will be in from March 3 to 13, while the third batch will be present from March 17 to 27. The visiting Soka University students are set to have a collection of unforgettable experiences and educational fun, fun, fun worth cherishing long after their brief learning stint and stay on Philippine soil.

Soka University students, advanced greetings of welcome to the University of the East, Philippines!
